Mile 2 Volunteer Driver Program
Mile 2 Volunteer Driver Program provides safe and reliable non-emergency long distance medical transportation to meet the on-going health and medical needs of residents in the West Piedmont District.
Eligibility for Riders:
Ambulatory
Does not have FULL Medicaid coverage
Based on family household income
Cannot have a vehicle/license in the home
Only to out-of-town medical transportation appointments
Eligibility for Drivers:
Must have minimum Virginia required vehicle insurance
Must pass a state background check
Must have a clean driving record for at least 3 years
Must have a properly operating and clean vehicle
Must be at least 21 years of age
Drivers are reimbursed $0.50 per mile!
